Obama is not the President-elect

To paraphrase McCain, during one of his campaign speeches, “Obama is already measuring the drapes.”

Amen! I know Obama and his sidekick, Joe Biden, is anxious. However, under the American system, Obama will NOT be the “President-elect” until after the electoral college votes. Depending on the mood of the electors, he might not become “President-elect” then. Granted, I think the scenario whereby the electors fail to choose Obama, is highly unlikely at this point.

I just question the pompous declaration of a so-called constituional scholar that it’s okay to drape himself in the mantle of “President-elect” when in fact, it is not yet confirmed. Until the votes are confirmed, it’s more appropriate to use other terms like “possible-President-elect”, “probable-President-elect”, maybe even “de-facto-President-elect.”

Of course, none of this makes any difference since he’s already begun to order Congress to do his bidding. Nice touch. I have to wonder if the man aspires to be Dictator of a Socialist society, or the President of a Democratic Republic.

much ado about nothing

In this case, the “nothing” refers to the amount of clothing this teenage girl was wearing.

Okay, I’m exaggerating! The girl was wearing something… just not very much of it.

I love this quote from the CNN blog:

I bet the answer to the question wouldn’t surprise me but I heard several comments about her mom. Where’s the daddy of this girl? I guarantee you he’s not in the picture! I have four daughters and ain’t no way in hell, they would’ve walk out my house looking like that.

Then there’s this quote from the forum at the Ocala Star-Banner forum:

It looks fine to me. Everyone in just so hung up on a little skin showing. I don’t see it as too revealing. She has everything important covered.

Talk about disparate views! Wait! “Viewing” is what the issue is about. ;-)

ACLU has it right this time

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , on May 9, 2008 by nakedstranger

The ACLU has posted its position regarding the Texas vs. FLDS situation on its website. It’s one of the best descriptions I’ve seen on the principles involved with the case.

Here’s the link: http://www.aclu.org/religion/gen/35123res20080502.html

The saddest thing about this case is that the children have been taken away from their parents without due process. The judge, for the sake of her own convenience, even violated Texas state law by passing judgment without individual hearings.

It was evident that the Judge presumed that every child was abused and that every adult was guilty of that abuse. Using that presumption, she exercised her power to take the children away from everything familiar to them. The children have been forced to go many miles from home to live with strangers who plan to force-feed them with ideas that their parents have wronged them by shielding them from the distractions of a God-less society.

Where is the public outcry?

It’s old, forgotten news now. Who cares what happens to these children?

It’s not a problem anyway. The key phrase, “child abuse”, has been uttered so everyone involved is automatically guilty. Not to worry… big brother is going to take care of everything. Besides, those people dress funny, too. So, even if they didn’t commit any crimes they must be guilty of something.

The precedent

Larry King asked if there was any precedent for the State’s actions:
The Nazi invasion of Warsaw comes to mind.

And then they were gone

Serial monogamy

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , on April 22, 2008 by nakedstranger

In a country with a divorce rate over 50%, it’s obvious that having multiple wives/spouses is perfectly legal. The only difference between polygamy (multiple wives) and “acceptable” practice is practicing one at a time. The kids conceived by those means aren’t messed up at all. Yeah right!

Why bother with the charade of a trial?

It’s obvious the State isn’t even considering the possibility of returning the children to the custody of their parents.

reported by CNN:
Child Protective Services spokeswoman Marleigh Meisner said her department is in the process of finding “temporary placement” for all the children. “What we did was warranted and in the best interest of the children,” she said. “This is not about religion — this is about keeping children safe from abuse.”

Mass abuse at Texas stadium

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , on April 20, 2008 by nakedstranger

It’s not that hard to believe especially since the government forces at all levels, Federal, State, and local are moving from democratic to fascist everyday. There is a variety of excuses used to justify the behavior, but the one most-favored in recent years is the “protect the children” scheme.

Under the “protect the children” mantra, the government can violate pretty much any right a citizen might otherwise have. That’s because children have been promoted to gods in the US society. There is no wish or demand that a child might have that will be denied them.

In a particularly bizarre abuse of power, the State of Texas has decided that an entire segment of their population is guilty of abusing children. Therefore, it’s quite acceptable to wrest 416 children from their parents and “go fishing” for evidence of abuse.

In the meantime, the State has no problem with the abuse it imposes on the children. I’m quite sure each and every child wants to live in a stadium with a bunch of strangers. Gee, that couldn’t possibly be frightening to be thrust into that environment. Ask any Katrina victim about how much they enjoyed living in a stadium. At least the Katrina victims weren’t forced to submit their DNA into a database.

Now we have 416 children forced to strip naked, en masse, in an auditorium full of strangers who then proceed to poke and prod their genitalia looking for “signs of abuse.” These same children will then be forced to provide DNA samples.

I suspect this is all a stall tactic while waiting for the crematoriums to be built.

The only question remaining is which of the FLDS members will have to be cremated, the parents, the children or the entire population.
